Market recovers with interest on bluechips The Bourse recovered yesterday after a slight breather and profit taking which the market experienced during the last few days. Most investors went for blue chips stocks such as JKH and SLT and the Milanka Price Index jumped to 2,144.44 points from 2,136.69 on Tuesday. This trend is expected to continue today too with improved gains. The All Share Price Index increased to 1,443.31 points from 1.440.06 on Tuesday . The turnover for the day was Rs 170,697.426. C.T. Land, Colombo Land, C.F. Venture Fund and Blue Diamonds were heavily traded stocks. Domestic purchases were Rs 3,220 million and foreign purchases Rs 110 million. Lankem Dev, Walk and Greig, People's Merch, Mahaweli Reach and Lankem Ceylon were the top five gainers. |
