PATA Orange County organizes educational tour to Sri Lanka...

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Los Angeles announces that the Orange County Pacific Asia Travel Association (OCPATA), California, USA is organising an educational tour for a group of 15 members, which includes chapter members from Florida, New York and San Jose to Sri Lanka from September 12-18. The purpose of this tour is to familiarise the travel agents with Sri Lanka, so that they will be able to promote Sri Lanka's many attractions including the delightful geography, historic sites and cultural heritage among the American Traveller.

OCPATA is arranging the group to arrive in Colombo on September 13 and they plan to meet with the Board members of the Sri Lanka Chapter of Pacific Asia Travel Association in order to further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.

The OCPATA has arranged visits to the World Heritage sites located in Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya and Kandy, where the agents will be able to see the masterpieces of architecture, art, sculpture and engineering, in order to explore Sri Lanka's history of more than twenty five centuries. The tour also includes visits to the spices gardens, elephant orphanage and the beautiful golden beaches at Bentota. The group will also enjoy a cultural performance by Kandyan dancers during their stay in Sri Lanka.

This educational tour has been organised in cooperation with the Sri Lanka PATA Chapter and its member hoteliers and tour operators.
