Major policy plank of Government : Ending land hunger

The Government will make more effective use of land resources and not allow the misuse of land that took place under the former Government. Most of the people who have encroached on State land are politically influential people and although laws that restrict land ownership still exist, the ministry has found that there are people who own many hundreds or thousands of acres of land while most farmers have less than one acre.
