by Ranil Wijayapala The LTTE political wing leader Senathiraja, of the Batticaloa town who was injured in a shooting incident on 'Black Tigers' day on July 5 succumbed to his injuries at the intensive care unit of the Batticaloa Teaching hospital around 1.45 pm yesterday, Police said. Senathiraja was admitted to the Batticaloa hospital along with his colleague on July 5 as they were shot at by unidentified gunmen near Arasadi junction in Batticaloa when they were leaving the Thevanayagam hall where the LTTE held ceremonies to mark Black Tigers day. Following the death of Senathiraja, the death toll of the violence marred Black Tiger day rose to two as another LTTE member was shot dead by suspected Karuna faction cadres at Vantharamoolai on the same day. |
