ICC agree to SLC request to accelerate adopted bowling view process

During the course of meetings at the ICC Annual Conference, Sri Lanka Cricket raised questions into the way in which the ICC is dealing with illegal deliveries, in particular regarding the research into spin bowling actions.

After listening to strong submissions from Sri Lanka Cricket, it has been agreed that the process that has been adopted by the ICC will be fast-tracked as far as possible without compromising the integrity of the research or the deliberations of the Cricket Committee and the Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) as they deal with this issue.

The ICC has previously agreed that it will conduct more research at September's ICC Champions Trophy, after which a sub-committee of the Cricket Committee - comprising Tim May, Aravinda de Silva and Angus Fraser - will review the current ICC two-stage bowling review process and the levels of tolerance.

The deliberations of this sub-committee will go to the ICC's Cricket Committee which will then make a recommendation to the CEC regarding any necessary changes. (ICC media release)
