Strong retail participation, healthy turnover at Bourse The Colombo Bourse closed on a strong note yesterday with significant retail participation and a healthy turnover. The All Share Price Index rose to 1,339,44 points from 1,335.45 points. The Key Milanka Price Index too gained at 2,033.06 points from 2,027.36 points. The turnover for the day was Rs 286,160,552. According to stock brokers, investors were heavily involved in institutional buying on fundamental stocks. Most investors preferred low value stocks and trading activity has been strong, they said. East West, CF Venture Fund, Colombo Land, Mullers and C.W. Mackie and Co were heavily traded stocks. Domestic purchases were Rs 3,759 million and foreign purchases Rs 223 million. Mullers, CFI, Fort Land, Touchwood and HNB Assurance were the top five gainers. Lanka Ventures announced a 15 % final dividend. |
