Dr. Amunugama said the job applications sent by unemployed graduates were now being processed by the Divisional Secretariats and officials had been directed to conclude interviews without delay so that appointments could be made next month. The Minister said unemployed graduates selected under this program would be posted to Ministries, government departments and institutions including the Education, Public Administration, Police, Health, Immigration and Emigration Department and Banks without any political discrimination. He said the Government had received job applications from nearly 55,000 graduates but only 27,000 graduates had earlier registered themselves as unemployed persons. |
