Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thera of Sri Sambodhi Viharaya in Colombo called on foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar last Friday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed the action to be taken to prevent the use of the image of the Lord Buddha as a symbol of trade. Recently an international garment manufacturer produced a ladies' swim suit that has a printed image of the Lord Buddha on it. The Buddha image has also been used on candles and compact discs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is taking action to prevent this kind of irresponsible activities occurring particularly in the Western countries. |
