Business in brief Kandalama Hotel to raise Rs. 1m for community development projects The Kandalama Hotel management hopes to raise Rs. one million for community development projects from the Soba Saraniya Trade and Education exhibition on June 25 and 26 at D.S. Senanayake College grounds Dambulla. The exhibition is being organised as a part of the hotel's 10th anniversary celebration. There would be nearly 50 stalls. New quality certification company QICS to offer value-added auditing Quality International Certification Services (Pvt) Ltd., (QICS) commenced operations recently as the licensed representative in Sri Lanka and the Maldives for Certification International (CI) of UK (www.cert-int.com) to offer UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) accredited certification to clients in the industrial and commercial sectors. QICS Managing Director Mangalika de Silva said the company's focus on value-added auditing would entail, among other things, a process of tracking continuing improvement in the certified companies and mechanisms for addressing weak areas that may develop. KBSL elite partner of Veritas Keells Business Systems Limited (KBSL), a member of the John Keells Group said that it has been recognised by Veritas Software Corporation, in the United States of America, as their elite partner for Storage and Data Solutions in Sri Lanka.
