Nations Trust sponsors National 'HRM Awards' Nations Trust Bank will sponsor the 'National Human Resource Management Awards 2003 ' to be held on October 2. Organised by the Association of Human Resource Professionals (HRP) the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), and the Post Graduate Institute of Management (PIM) of the Sri Jayawardenepura University, with the aim of unlocking human resource potential in Sri Lanka, this will be the second year in succession that the National HRM Awards will be held. "We strongly believe in the enhancement of the skills and capabilities of employees who are the cornerstone of any organisation, which wants to show superior performance. At Nations Trust we actually put this into practice to ensure delivery of customer satisfaction exceeding expectations. We are very happy to be associated with The National HRM awards which actively encourage similar philosophies" said Zulfiqar Zavahir, Chief Executive Officer, Nations Trust Bank. The main award will be the overall HRM Award, while there will be nine others under two categories, namely large (over 300 employees) and medium (with 50 - 300 employees). The unique feature of this year's awards will be the award for the most innovative HR practices (large and medium categories) which will be given for the first time. PIM Chairman Prof. Gunapala Nanayakkara said that the awards were designed to bring HR development to the forefront of a company's activities, where HR is treated as the central factor of investment. "We are indeed indebted to Nations Trust Bank for recognising the importance of HRM in today's changing worlds and for having agreed so readily to our request for sponsorship" Prof. Gunapala said. |
