Dharshana wins Canadian open shuttle title

Former Sri Lanka player Darshana Fernando put up a fine performance to win the Men's Open title at the Open Badminton Championships held in Ontario, Toronto, Canada.

Fernando who was a national player in Sri Lanka for several years was also the national champion in the State of Bahrain.

He is also a qualified coach in Canada where he coaches during his leisure hours. Fernando hopes to participate in the next World Masters badminton championships which will be held in Edmonton in 2005.
