SB's dream will remain a dream - Tikiri Kobbekaduwa

by Sanjaya Asela Mathurata

Responding to Nuwara Eliya District MP S. B. Dissanayake's avowed prediction of the UNP winning the Central Provincial Council Election, Yatinuwara SLFP Chief Organizer and Presidential Media Advisor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa reiterated that S. B. Dissanayake's dream will remain a dream and the Freedom Alliance will register its historic victory in the Central Province as evidenced in the Provincial Council Election of the North Western Province.

Kobbekaduwa made this remark when he addressed the SLFP Yatinuwara Youth Organisation meeting held at Sri Abhayaraja Pirivena, Urapola, Pilimatalawa, recently. He said the victory at the NWP election will be followed in all other provinces and that the youthful generation countrywide cooperated with the Freedom Alliance to win a large majority of votes at the last General Election.

During the last two and half years the UNP wielded power both in Parliament and the Central Provincial Council, but the people of the Central Province got nothing, he said.

The Freedom Alliance is presently going ahead with the process of fulfilling its election pledges and by now interviews have been held to find employment to 27000 unemployed graduates. Steps have been taken to find employment to 85000 unemployed young men and women who have passed the GCE Advanced Level Examination.

All attempts to belittle the Freedom Alliance's victory at the last General Election will boomerang on the perpetrators. The people can enjoy the true dividends of the Freedom Alliance's victory only by giving it the ruling power in all the Provincial Councils, stated Kobbekaduwa.

Former CPC Member A. G. Sirisena, Yatinuwara Pradeshiya Sabha Member B. G. Abeysinghe, former Member Vijitha Abeysundera and Yatinuwara Meda Palatha Co-operative Society President B. M. D. Thilakaratne also spoke.
