Indices up on speculative buying

Indices at the Colombo Bourse recorded gains yesterday due to speculative buying of stocks. The All Share Price Index increased to 1,300.27 points from 1,298.07 with the Milanka Price Index moving up to 1,934.40 points from 1,926.49.

The turnover for the day was Rs 96,245,142. Stockbrokers said that the market has been sensitive towards the mixed reporting from the political arena .

Blue Diamonds , MLL, CF Venture Fund, Colombo Land and Distilleries were heavily traded stocks. Domestic purchases were Rs 1,994 million and foreign purchases Rs 86 million. Metal Recyclers, Lankem Dev, Ferntea Ltd, Mullers and E-Channeling were the top five gainers.
