Six killed as Bangladesh building crumbles DHAKA, Wednesday (Reuters) Six people were killed and at least 10 were feared trapped in the rubble of a five-storey building that collapsed in the Banglaeshi capital on Wednesday, police and witnesses said. The dead included two men, two women and two children. "We woke up hearing a roaring noise and came running out to see that the building adjacent to my home was crumbling," said Shusil Chanra. Police and volunteers were helping troops in the rescue effort and they brought eight survivors out of the ruins. Police said they suspected faulty construction on top of poor foundations may have led to the collapse early on Wednesday as many of the building's residents slept. |
