There is no politics at all in the working places and everyone should render his best for the welfare of the country. This was stated by Rohita Abeygunawardhana, the Deputy Minister of Posts and Telecommunication participating at a ceremony held at the auditorium of the divisional Secretariat Office at Beruwala. Speaking further he stressed that the time has come to work and everyone should be vigilant to search for persons who involve in corruption and irregularities and they should be brought to book. There were lot of corruption during last regime in distribution of roofing sheets donated by the Government of India. The roofing sheets were not distributed among needy people but to the favourites of politicians and government officers. I would instruct the police to investigate and submit report if there were any irregularities in distribution of roofing sheets. He also requested to bring to his notice if there are any obstacles to carry out the duties. Everyone should realise that to achieve better results we should work collectively but not individually. Bernard Wasantha, the Divisional Secretary of Beruwala, Kusman de Silva, the Chairman, Beruwala PS, Piyal Nisantha, the leader of the Opposition of the PS also addressed. |
