| Dissident SLMC MPs asked to show cause The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) Secretary General M.T. Hasen Ali has written to Parliamentarians Rishard Badiudeen, Najeeb A. Majeed and Hussein Bhaila and its High Command member Inamullah to show cause as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them. Richard and Najeeb have been charge-sheeted for having conspired to discredit the Party and its leader and also acting in a manner so as to bring disrepute to the Party by acting against Party decisions and conducting against the policies for which the Party stands. They have also been charged to show cause as to why they breached the Party disciplined by making public statements against the Party and its Leader without canvassing issues, if any within the Party . Bhaila has been asked to show cause as regards his conduct of brazenly violating Party discipline and crossing over to the Government ranks and making public statements against the policies of the Party, states a press release issued by the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress. These four SLMC members have been asked to show cause in writing by 5.00 p.m. today. They have also been asked to be present at the High Command meeting to be held the same day at 6.30 p.m. at 14B, Stanmore Crescent, Colombo 7. |
