New Bench for Thilanga's bail application by Indeewara Thilakarathne The Court of Appeal appointed a fresh Bench to hear and determine the bail application filed by Chairman, Sri Lanka Telecom, Thilanga Sumathipala. The sittings will commence Monday. The Bench comprised Justices Andrew Somawansa and Gamini L. Abeyarathne. Sumathipala who is also Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman has cited the IGP, the Director, Criminal Investigation Department, OIC Anti-Human Smuggling Unit and the Attorney General as respondents. Sumathipala is charged with aiding and abetting Dhammika Amarasinghe to forge a passport in the name of Buddhika Priyashantha Godage and aiding and abetting Dhammika Amarasinghe to travel abroad using the forged passport. |
