POWERHOUSE is a production house established a year ago, wishes to establish itself as the biggest "one-stop shop" production house in Sri Lanka. In its very first year of operation POWERHOUSE has worked for 60 clients and has produced over 100 Television commercials. The first year also saw 2 of the commercials produced by POWERHOUSE winning SLIM awards. POWERHOUSE is equipped with the latest technical facilities and the best creative manpower, catering to the needs of various clients in Ad film making. The year 2004/5 will mark the entry of POWERHOUSE into television programming. The first television programming venture is an arrangement with the Martin Wickramasinghe Trust to propagate his writings through the medium of television. A film festival based on Martin Wickramasinghe's stories will be aired on Rupavahini from 29th May 2004, coinciding with the 114th birth anniversary of the legendary writer. POWERHOUSE also intends to produce and broadcast Tele-films/dramas based on Martin Wickramasinghe's short stories. A committee headed by a veteran film director will develop and oversee the implementation of this project. This is just the beginning .... |
