Muslims uphold PM's decision

All Ceylon Union of Muslim League Youth Front has upheld Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse's courageous decision to disapprove the message sent congratulating Israel on her National Day, states a press release by All Ceylon Union of Muslim League Youth Fronts.

The release said: "We view this as a courageous decision on the part of the Prime Minister thus honouring and appreciating humanity and justice.

This stance of the Prime Minister is nothing but a clear example of courage without being subdued before the might and power of the world.

We still remember the stand taken by President R. Premadasa against moves by certain powerful nations to change the UN resolution on Zionism into Racism.

We request the Government of Sri Lanka to raise its voice at the UN to stop the oppression and suppression of the Israelis in Palestine in keeping with the human values.
