ISO 9001:2000 certificate for S. A. Silva & Sons Lanka

S. A. Silva and Sons Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Silvermill Holdings Limited, was recently awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate by the Sri Lanka Standards Institute.

S. A. Silva and Sons Lanka was established in 1987 as a modern, fully automated factory to process High Quality Desiccated Coconuts and related products to meet the demands of quality conscious buyers the world over.

At the time, the project was awarded the rare distinction of "Pioneering Status" by the Government through the Sri Lanka Export Development Board recognising it as the first modern continuous drying Desiccated Coconut Processing Facility in Sri Lanka.

Today the company is pursuing its vision of "Achieving success through Excellence" by being the market leader among suppliers of edible coconut products that conform to high standards of quality, safety, continuous improvement, research and development and environmental friendliness as required by its customers in line with the ISO 9001:2000 system.

High levels of productivity, participation and commitment by staff contributed towards S. A. Silva and Sons Lanka (Pvt) Ltd receiving this certificate from Sri Lanka Standards Institution.
