Little Johnnie Howard - "The supposed cricket tragic"

John Howard stepped in to waters deeper than the Tampa ever sailed in - when he answered "yes" to a question about Test Record Wicket Taker Muthiah Muralitharan and then he compounded his obvious ignorance by calling the twelve camera shooting system of 250 frames a second -state of the art technology operated by Professor Bruce Elliott at the University of WA- as "THAT THING"! So much for a man who uses every photo opportunity to show the Aussies that he loves sport and especially cricket.

Little John Howard's ability to talk on matters cricket is as far fetched an authority as would be to grant Hollingworth a seat on a board enquiring in to child abuse! John Howard used Steve Waugh's moment of retirement to further his own ends but refuses to read Steve Waugh's comments on Muthiah Muralitharan.

Steve Waugh at a business lunch in April this year said of Murali "He's great to watch. He is a unique type of bowler..he makes Sri Lanka competitive in world cricket -he gets people talking about cricket .. they are the sort of players you want in the game".

And does little Johnnie know that Australia's long serving cricket coach JOHN BUCHANAN has this to say of Murali .

"Personally with his new delivery, I'm not sure it's significantly different to what he's done before. I think the ICC made their decision on him a long time ago let's look at how he uses his wrist and fingers to spin the ball the way he does instead of being so quick to jump on him".

And little Johnnie Howard was quick to do just that - jump on him - as there might be a few cheap votes in the outer (Bay 13) that might save his bacon in the forthcoming election. Mugabe and Mahathir have told him where to get off - just as Murali has done.

Isn't it time that he stands down before he is pushed? The bullet-proof vest that he wore when he addressed members of the Rifle Shooters Association was the kind of guts he has shown throughout his tenure of office.

He should restrict his comments to the tailored script from his spin-doctors. The School of Human of Movement and Exercise Science of the University of Western Australia must have chuckled to hear their state of the art equipment (Lord of the Rings fame) was referred to as "THAT THING". The honorary doctorate of science that was to be conferred on him should now be withdrawn.

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread!
