Kosala and Upul for UK Kosala Kulasekera of Vidyartha College, Kandy and Upul Tharanga of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda are the recipients of this year's Sir Paul Getty Cricket scholarships to follow a six-month stint in the UK. Both were in the Sri Lanka squad for the Under 19 World Cup held in Bangladesh early this year. Kosala will be attached to Stanmore Cricket Club in Middlesex while Upul will be with Loughton Cricket Club in Essex. Last year, Farveez Maharoof from Wesley College and Sandun Dias from St. Joseph's were the winners of the scholarships set up by late Sir Paul Getty, a great lover of Sri Lanka Cricket and an international philanthropist. The annual UK cricket scholarship scheme is coordinated by Asitha Jayaweera on behalf of the SLC UK Cricket Committee. |
