DPMC awarded ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Certificate David Peiris Motor Company Ltd. (DPMC) has received the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Certification from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI). Only 11 companies in the island have received this certification from the SLSI and DPMC is the first automotive company to do so. SLSI is the only member body in Sri Lanka representing the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) which is based in Geneva. The Director General/CEO of the SLSI, B. S. P. Mendis presented the ISO 14001 certificate to DPMC Executive Director Neil Perera at a ceremony presented at the Mount Lavinia Hotel recently. Mendis said that the new partnership between the SLSI and DPMC would be the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship. DPMC Executive Director Neil Perera attributed the achievement to the company's commitment to preserve the environment while maintaining the quality of its products and services and praised the hard work, dedication, teamwork and the cooperation of all the employees at the company's Madapatha and Bandaragama facilities complexes. DPMC is the authorised dealer in Sri Lanka for leading international brands Bajaj and Ford. While introducing state-of-the-art technology to streamline the automotive operations and thereby improve efficiency, productivity and the quality of its products and services. The company has also focused its attention on maintaining a clean and pleasant working environment, eliminating waste and ensuring the health and safety of not only the employees but also all those who visit the company premises. |
