Upward momentum at Bourse continues

The upward momentum at the Colombo Bourse continued showcasing the investor enthusiasm effected by the peace initiative, political stability and year end strong corporate results. JKH and SLT shares were the significant players with strong buying interests . Indices bounced by 60 points during last the few days with the level of activities improving. The All Share Price Index increased to 1,283.96 points from 1,256.65 on Wednesday while the Milanka Price Index picked up at 1,947.36 points from 1,888.32. Turnover for the day was Rs 362,372,412.

According to Stock Brokers, the market might experience profit taking and technical correction in the coming days due to strong performance during the last few days.

SLT, Blue Diamonds, Ceylon Leather, Distilleries, Ahot Properties, JKH and Overseas Realty were heavily traded stocks.

Hayleys Exports announced a 15 % final (tax free) dividend.
