Kulasekera A Galagedera Pradeshiya Sabha UNP member shot his wife and three others at Madige of Dehideniya within the Hatharaliyadda Police area, seriously injuring them last Monday night, according to Hatharaliyadda Police. The member's wife Sithi Razana (35), M.S.M. Duller (36), K. Abdul Jabar (52) and Ajimel (32), the victims were admitted to the Galagedera and Kandy Hospitals with serious injuries. Ajimel's condition was reported to be serious. The shooting was said to be the result of a prolonged between two parties. The assailant S.M. Daruf, the Pradeshiya Sabha member was arrested by the Hathraliyadda Police together with the shot gun and were produced before the Kandy Magistrate who remanded the suspect, yesterday. On the instructions of Central Region DIG Nimal Mediwaka and SSP E.M. Gunatilleke Banda, Hatharaliyadda Police OIC Sunil Yatawara is conducting further investigations. |
