Bomb hits US military car in Baghdad, casualties

BAGHDAD, Sunday (Reuters)

A roadside bomb hit and badly damaged a U.S. military vehicle in Baghdad on Sunday and witnesses said there were American casualties.

The targeted Humvee car was part of a military convoy driving through the Canal Street in the capital. The witnesses said U.S. soldiers in the convoy opened fire randomly after the blast, wounding several passersby.

Two soldiers in the Humvee were evacuated from the scene by military medics, they said.

There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military on the report.
