Morale boosting win for Lankans The Sri Lanka indoor cricket team who are currently touring England scored a morale boosting 103 run win over Ipswitch in a warm up match played in Ipswitch yesterday. The home side batting first were restricted to 21 runs from their 16 overs with Carl hitting a top score of 32. Tharindu Mendis returned excellent figures of six wickets for minus 20 runs while Roshan Weerasinghe captured five wickets for minus nine runs. In addition Duncan Arnolda took three wickets for four runs. In reply the Lankans collected 124 runs from their 16 overs with good contributions coming from Thushendra Soysa (17), Duncan Arnolda (11), Roshan Weerasinghe (22), Tharindu Mendis (21), Chrishantha Peiris (24) and Sanjeewa Jayaratne (16). Carl who captured two wickets for four runs following his knock of 32 for Ipswitch was named man of the match. |
