Passport Division services streamlined

Services at the Passport Division of the Immigration and Emigration Department at Bambalapitiya have been streamlined bringing all customer services under one roof by the Department to serve the public better. Earlier, applicants were inconvenienced and they sought help of touts to obtain passport forms, stamps and photocopies. Here one of the busy counters accepting passports for renewal.

Korea to boost trade ties with Lanka

The new Korean Ambassador designate Jae Hong Lim in cooperation with Kotra Colombo is to map out innovative programs to improve bilateral trade ties between Korea and Sri Lanka. The main focus on the agenda is to attract Korean investments, to counter competition particularly from China and Vietnam. Lim in an interview with the Daily News said that because of the competition some Korean investors have moved out.
