The National Council of Young Men's Muslim Associations of Sri Lanka - Maligawatte (Inc.) congratulates Mahinda Rajapakse on his appointment as the Prime Minister. Mahinda Rajapakse, a veteran politician from the Southern Province, who always stood with the common masses is the second political leader from the South to be elevated to prestigious office of the Prime Minister. Al Haj Jainudeen Ahamath, National President of the National Council of the YMMAs of Sri Lanka in a press release said that the new Prime Minister had rendered great services by engaging himself in various sectors of the political field for over three decades and his new appointment can be described as an appreciation for his dedicated service. His support for the Palestinian cause and being the President of the Sri Lanka Palestine Friendship Society have won him many friends in the Muslim community. The National Council of YMMAs of Sri Lanka whilst pledging its solidarity and co-operation in all his future endeavours earnestly appeal to all leaders of the country irrespective of their political affiliations to forget their differences and egos and extend their whole-hearted support to the new Prime Minister and work tirelessly to achieve permanent peace and development of the country. The National Council of the YMMAs of Sri Lanka wishes the Prime Minister Rajapakse a very successful tenure of Premiership. |
