Volatility at Bourse continues

Volatility at the Colombo Bourse continued yesterday with all indices fluctuating in a narrowed band due to lack of buying interests. According to market sources, the "Wait and See" approach by the investors till the new parliament is convened has made trading dull.

The All Share Price Index appreciated to 1,201.50 points from 1,208.90 points on Monday and the Milanka Price Index decreased to 1,847.90 points compared to 1859.60 points, the previous day. Turnover registered an improvement at Rs 129,099,214 due to Rs.1.892 million shares of light House Hotel changing hands at Rs.35 which contributed 51% to the day's turnover.

Yesterday's heavily traded stocks were NDB Bank, SLT and Blue Diamonds. Domestic purchases were Rs 1,254 million and foreign purchases Rs 77 million. CIC, Light House Hotel, Lee Hedges, Ceylon Oxygen and Hotel Sigiriya were the top five gainers.
