Fighting between the Prabakaran and Karuna factions of the LTTE witnessed a lull as the festive season set in yesterday with Military spokesman Sumedha Perera claiming there was no sound of gunfire in the battle areas of the two factions.

Official sources were unable to confirm whether the two factions had reached agreement for a ceasefire during the festive period.

However,there were no reports of fresh clashes other than the reported attacks on Good Friday.
