Victor Alahakoon, Peradeniya special correspondent The 37th AGM of Alliance Francaise de Kandy was conducted at its new premises, Peradeniya Road, Kandy recently. The main objective of Alliance Francaise de Kandy, a multinational cultural organisation is the teaching of the French language spoken by more than 150 million people spread over four continents and the promotion of cultural activities in music, drama, arts etc involving both the host country and France, and the enhancement of friendship and shared values. Alliance Francaise de Kandy, on Peradeniya Road, established 40 years ago had been functioning at its old premises at 412 for almost 16 long years but with the unprecedented rise in the demand for the mastery of this world language over 600 students now throng the portals of the Alliance Francaise de Kandy. Hence the authorities have now had to move to a new home on 642, Peradeniya Road, Kandy.
