Measures are under way to obtain assistance of China to develop Sri Lanka's Railway Service, a spokesman of the Embassy of Republic of China said. A company owned by the Chinese Government has expressed willingness to provide non-corrosive steel train compartments to the service. A factory equipped with modern technology will be set up to assemble train cabins with the assistance of the Chinese company. It will also provide technical aid. The Colombo Dockyard Company and the International Industrial and Trade Promotion Institute will provide assistance.
