The Statements of Accounts relating to three bank accounts of the Mahapola Trust Fund together with the proposed budget for the current year and reports of allocation of funds for a number of Mahapola projects have been obtained by Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva. This was in response to a directive by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga to the Chief Justice as Chairman of the Mahapola Trust Fund, to inquire into the alleged irregularities involving a transfer of Rs. 316,000 million belonging to the Mahapola Trust Fund to a private company. |
