Former Agriculture and Livestock Minister S.B. Dissanayake who was yesterday issued notice by the Supreme Court to answer charges for Contempt of Court left the island on Wednesday and was reported to have flown to Australia via India. Meanwhile, Gamini Abeyratne alias Taxi Abey, Security liaison officer at the Bandaranaike International Airport and close associate of Dissanayake, who is alleged to have helped terrorist organisations procure arms, too is reported to have fled the country several days ago. Taxi Abey is reported to be in Switzerland. |
