National Bhikkhu Front congratulates UPFA

The National Bhikku Front in a media release yesterday congratulated the United People's Freedom Alliance on its success over the UNF by utterly defeating them in 14 Administrative Districts while winning the postal votes in all the Districts. This displays the people's will to dispel any process detrimental to the country, it said.

"The majority of the people in this country exercised their franchise in favour of the Freedom Alliance which is pledged to direct the country on a correct path.

In spite of the drawback to form a stable Government in the face of the interference by a certain section of the Buddhist Clergy, we hope the new Government will withstand the challenge and fulfil their responsibility to build an administration and a society that respect religion, humanism and the reign of tenfold righteousness known as the Dasa Raja Dharmaya.

May the Government of the United People's Freedom Alliance receive strength and courage to achieve this end", wished the National Bhikku Front in their media release.
