Dhammissara spikers to tour India Sri Lanka National Schools Girls Volleyball Champions, Dhammissara National School, Nattandiya will play in an invitational Volleyball tournament in Kerala, India from 5th to 14th of April 2004. The invitation followed after they became the National School Champions in 2003. These schools' champions' team also played against the Maldivian national volleyball team in preparation for the SAF Games last week. They beat the Maldivians by 25/22, 26/24 and 25/20 in a clean sweep. Team Manager - J. Senevirathe (Deputy Principal), Coach - Pushpa Boteju (Sports Instructor) will also make the tour. Caltex Lubricants Lanka Limited, a leading sports promoter in the country, have extended their helping hand to these upcoming team of volleyballers, who have excelled in the sport during the recent past. Dhammissara College Nattandiya surrounded by an area popular for the sport of volleyball are the national schools volleyball champions. Many a leading national player has also emerged from the schools in the past while a few players are in the grooming for the national team. The school has also received invitations for a few foreign tours that would provide much needed exposure to its volleyballers.
