30,000 jobs for youth in 1st year of UPFA - D. M. Jayaratne

Government agencies earmarked for privatization would be revamped and given a new lease of life and employment for 30,000 youths would be provided during the first year of the Freedom Alliance regime, said Posts and Mass Communication Minister, D. M. Jayaratne addressing the 108th Sannivedana Piyasa at Pilimatalawa recently.

He said the Communication technology has greatly facilitated transactions with the outside world.

'I have started my career with the postal department and could reach the zenith of it, after being appointed as member in charge of Postal Service. The experience which gathered would be harnessed to ameliorate the lot of the masses, he said.

Central Province Council, Opposition Leader, Sarath Ekanayake, Yatinuwara candidate, Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Deputy PMG W. D. Sirisena, PMG Shameen Senadheera, D. S. W. M. Wickramaratne and several others spoke.
