Attanagalla special correspondent

Speaking at election meetings at Kalalpitiya, Pasyala and Veyangoda on Tuesday, Freedom Alliance's lead candidate in the Gampaha district and Senior Advisor to the President Anura Bandaranaike said that what the country needs today is a government that caters to the demands of the poor.

Due to the high cost of living poor people are burdened with hardships, he said.

He said during the last two years the United National Front leader Ranil Wickremesinghe with his ministers played hell with the country's wealth. Actions would be taken to solve the problems of the masses under a Freedom Alliance government.

He appealed to the people to elect the Freedom Alliance to form a new government under the leadership of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, PS member Asoka Weerakkody, Sisira Kumara Bulathsinhala also spoke.
