Cautious approach in trading

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) closed on a narrowed band yesterday. The All Share Price Index dipped to 1,314.01 points compared to 1,320.13 points on Friday. The Milanka Price Index decreased marginally to 1,978.97 points from 1,982.76 the previous day. However the turnover for the day went up to Rs. 88,339,716 from Rs 84,426,576 on Friday. The big investors have shown a cautious approach in trading.

SLT, Blue Diamonds, Colombo Land, JKH, Nations Trust and Merchant Bank were the highest contributors of the day.

Domestic purchases were Rs 1,383 million and foreign purchases Rs 61 million.

Lanka Ashok, Vanik Incorp Ltd, Mullers, Arpico and Lanka Walltile were the top five gainers.
