Rowing debut at SAF Games By Richard Dwight The South Asian Federation Games scheduled to take place at Islamabad, Pakistan, from March 29 to April 7, breaks fresh ground, in that it will for the first time in the history of the Games have rowing as a discipline. This undoubtedly, will give the national rowing teams coming under this region, the much needed opportunity of competing against each other. The Sri Lanka National Rowing team in reparation for the Games, has been undergoing strenuous training and coaching sessions for several months. They have in this regard been assisted by HNB Assurance Limited, Dimo and Slimline. The team leaving for the Games is as follows: Chanaka Talpahewa (Captain), Diluk Aluvihare, Usman Fatharally, Sanjeewa Perera, Devaka Seneviratne, Isuru Perera, S. P. Fonseka, Mevan Gunawardena, Dejan De Zoysa, Dineshka Aluvihare, Prajith Perera, Udesh Hettiarachchi, Lakmal Wickramage (Coach). |
