Registrar, wife murdered

Dharmasiri Beddage, 66, Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths of Millewa, Horana and his wife Nalani Beddage, 62, were mysteriously murdered inside their house yesterday.

Beddage, a former member of the Horana Pradeshiya Sabha was a cousin of former Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake.

No arrests have been made.

Police suspect this to be a politically motivated assassination.
