Deutsche and Sampath Bank sign partner agreement Deutsche Bank signed a partner bank agreement with Sampath Bank to allow Deutsche Bank corporate customers greater access to Deutsche Bank cash management services in Sri Lanka via Sampath Bank's extensive branch network. Deutsche Bank Chief Country Officer and Head of Cash Management in Sri Lanka Stefan Mahrdt said that the superior IT technology, widespread branch network and the service was the reason for the bank to select Sampath Bank. "By working closely with Sampath Bank we are able to develop deep into customer's financial value chain thereby enhancing the efficiency of our cash management services. This in turn translates into improved cash flow and convenience for the customers and their dealers," he said. Managing Director CEO Sampath Bank, Anil Amarasuriya said that many people asked them why they tied up with a rival bank. In the modern world while competing for business we need to have partnerships to make optimum use of available recourses for the benefit of both organisations. The Bank was celebrating their 17th anniversary and their current assets are over Rs. 54 billion and would be opening their 64th branch in Kegalle next week. He said that with more transactional volumes moving through their branch network the Bank would be able to optimise their online operations," he said. With roughly 803 Euro billion in assets and approximately 67,700 employees, Deutsche Bank offers its 13 million clients unparalleled financial services in 76 countries. In Asia Pacific, Deutsche Bank has over 30 offices in 15 countries with more than 6,000 staff. It has had an office in Sri Lanka since 1980 and currently has approximately 46 employees. (SS) |
