13 prisoners escape from Indian jail JODHPUR, India, Tuesday (AFP) Thirteen prisoners escaped from a jail in the western Indian state of Rajasthan Monday after beating up their guards, police said. The incident occurred in Bharatpur district when the prisoners roughed up the guards, snatched keys and scaled the prison wall, senior police official Arun Kumar Duggar told AFP. The prisoners also took the rifle of a prison guard, the officer said. It was not immediately known whether the prisoners were under trials, petty criminals or serious offenders. |
