UPFA Govt. will launch programmes to make rural women participate in development - Ferial Ashraff

Alaiyadivembu group correspondent

Once the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) came into power, the next government will launch a meaningful programmes to make rural women actively participate in the economic development process with a view to engage them in self-employment venture, said the National Leader of National United Alliance (NUA) and former MP Ferial Ashraff at various seminars organized by various Women's Societies held recently at Maruthamunai, Periya Neelavanai and Pandiruppu on last Sunday with the participation of hundreds of women.

Continuing Ferial Ashraff said people of all communities especially in the coastal belt of Ampara District were fortunate in having the service of the late Leader of SLMC Al-Haj M.H.M. Ashraff, who was above racial, social and political bias. But the people of the area are now highly worried over on the activities of Rauff Hakeem.

He has immensely damaged the SLMC in various ways. Those who benefited through the SLMC are still remaining with it though they clearly understood the pulse of the majority Muslims of Ampara District.

Even though Rauff Hakeem becomes an MP once again, he will be rejected by the majority of Muslims in future, she said.
