ASPI moves up

The All Share Price Index spiralled to 1,338.70 points from 1,248.50 yesterday at Colombo Stock Exchange. The increase in ASPI was boosted by shares of Bukit Darah a subsidiary of Carsons Group being traded at higher prices.

The Milanka Price Index dipped to 1,948,04 points compared to 1,951.01 points on Monday. Turnover increased to Rs 105,192,894. The previous day's turnover was Rs 90,409,959. Nations Trust, Namunukula, Richard Peiris, AHOT Properties and Grain Elevator were the day's highest contributors.

Domestic purchases were Rs 1,887 million and foreign purchases Rs 90 million. Top five gainers were Bukit Darah, Colonial MTR, Tangerine, Ceylon Guardian and Tea Smallholder.
