The tremendous good and welfare that would have been done for the people at the term end, frightened the PA and an envious President caused a dissolution of the government alleging of misconduct," said Kegalle district United National Front candidate in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections K. Sujith Sanjaya Perera at a meeting held at Bulathkohupitiya town. He said that it is a characteristic of the SLFP to alliances since 1956 form as they shiver at the strength of a single party like the UNP and so the SLFP always looked round to hang on to some party to contest and fight with the UNP. What happened in their alliance of 1970, he queried. The era of shortcomings of food stuffs and the never ending queues have not been erased from the memories of people as yet. A Ranil Wickremesinghe government will be formed once again after the April 2 polls giving him an overwhelming mandate to form the next powerful regime, to solve the nation's problems, Sujeewa Perera stressed. The people are fed up with alliances as they knew what those alliances have broughtabout, and done other than ruination. Kegalle district UNF candidate Anthony Muttu, Yatiyantota PS chairman Nihal Rohitha Kumara and several others addressed the gathering. |
