UNF has done nothing for the welfare of rural folk

Akuressa Group Correspondent

The United National Front has done nothing for the welfare of the rural folk in Deniyaya electorate during its two year ruling period, said Vijaya Dahanayake, United People's Freedom Alliance candidate for Matara District.

He was speaking at a meeting of party supporters held at Kalubowitiyana Maha Vidyalaya recently.

He said that when he was a People's Alliance MP for a short period had done much for the benefit of the people starting rural electrification scheme, vocational training centres, road development and development projects in the area.

During last two years under the UNF regime people were greatly inconvenienced due to the burdens placed on the people, he said.

Speaking further he said that many UNF supporters are now rallying around the United People's Freedom Alliance to give their fullest co-operation for the UPFA victory at the forthcoming general election.
