De Silva - Our London Correspondent An Association of Sri Lankan Professionals in the United Kingdom was inaugurated in London recently by the High Commissioner Faisz Mustapha, when they had their meeting at Prince of Ceylon Restaurant in North West London. The High Commissioner was elected Patron of the Association at this meeting which was largely attended by professionals coming from various professions who are working in the UK. The High Commissioner said " Our professionals both Sri Lankan trained and our second generation Sri Lankans in the UK are held in high esteem in this country for their dedication to their chosen vocations and for their professional integrity. He continued to say that " they are not only good team players, but also tend to excel and lead in their chosen fields". He wished the new body to be a meeting point of various professions to exchange each others' views and be a source of networking for the benefit of members as well as more importantly use the synergies gained for the benefit of our mother nation Sri Lanka. " In a fast changing world, we need, professionals who can command respect by their in-depth training , honesty, integrity and commitment and not necessarily based upon remuneration. Dharmadasa & Dr. Andrew Nayagam, General Secretary: Rohan De Alwis, Deputy General Secretary: Mahinda Perera, Treasurer L.L. Ariyasena, Committee Members: Dr. Rangith Dissanayake, Dr. Keerthi Devandra, Dr. Ruwani Guneratne, Dr. Amith Abeyaratne. |
