Trade delegation to Myanmar The Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Authority initiated the promotion of a trade delegation to Myanmar to attend the "Myanmar Gem Emporium" which is a biannual event organised under the sponsorship of the Government. Myanmar Gems, Jade and Pearl Emporium is held between March 13 and 21 in Yongon - Myanmar where the largest display of Myanmar Produce Ruby, Sapphire, Jades and Pearl are exhibited as lots to be sold by tender and competitive bidding. The National Gem and Jewellery Authority invited traders to attend this sale in order to increase the supply of rough gem material available in the country for value addition purposes and to source the supply of foreign stones required for the jewellery industry in Sri Lanka. The delegation comprises 12 leading gem traders from Sri Lanka and the Export Promotion Manager and a member of the Board and Directors of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority. Arrangements have been made for the delegation to meet the Myanmar Gem Traders and officials of the Ministry of Mines in Myanmar and other companies with the participation of Sri Lanka's Ambassador in Myanmar I.
